Walking Holidays in Dorset

Durdle Door
Dorset Coastal Path Seatown to Poole Harbour

The Dorset stretch of the South West Coast Path is a real highlight, with much of it being along the Jurassic Coast, with features such as Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove. You will also encounter the more recent hand of man, in the shape of the military firing ranges at Lulworth and the oil extraction at Kimmeridge. A worthwhile diversion from the coast path is a visit to Corfe Castle with its famous remains. As you approach the end of the route at South Haven Point, why not linger in the Victorian seaside resort of Swanage, then continue on to explore Old Harry and Studland Beach.

Sherborne Abbey
Macmillan WaySherborne to Abbotsbury

The southern 30 or so miles of the Macmillan Way run through Dorset from just north of Sherborne to its finish in Abbotsbury. Sherborne itself is well worth a vist to see the Abbey and its surrounds. The route south from Sherborne travels through some glorius Dorest countryside with archetypal English villages including Yetminster, Evershot and Cattistock. The end of the route at Abbotsbury with its medieval swannery and other fine buildings makes a fitting conclusion to a fine walk!

Let's be flexible!

Remember, you may start or end your walk at any point, or if you would like to walk sections that are not consecutive we can arrange transport as required. Although we publish our "standard" itineraries, many of our walkers prefer to walk at a slower or faster pace. We are happy to design an itinerary that suits you, so please contact us to discuss your exact requirements.
